How many subscription licenses will I need?
Just one. You can run as many server instances as you need with a single monthly or annual subscription license key.
What is an instance?
A server instance is a single copy of Wowza Streaming Engine software running on a single physical or virtual computer. When you install Wowza Streaming Engine, you start a server instance. You can start/run multiple server instances on a single computer or on multiple computers. If a server instance is running, regardless of whether it's being used for production or testing, it is automatically billed. It is your responsibility to start and stop server instances as needed.
How do I cancel my subscription?
If you wish to cancel Services purchased on a subscription basis, you must do so on the My Support page in My Account. All cancellation and refund requests need to be submitted at least seven (7) days prior to the end of the subscription period or then-current Renewal Period. Otherwise, the cancellation will take effect on the next subscription period or then-current Renewal Period with your default payment method being charged.

How do I add more than one server instance to my annual subscription?
When you purchase an annual license subscription, you pre-pay for a select number of server instances for that annual period. If you wish to add additional server instances to your annual license subscription during the annual period, you can do so at any time by contacting Customer Support. You will be charged a prorated annual rate for each server instance added for the remainder of the current annual subscription period.
What if I use more server instances than are included in my annual subscription?
In any given month, if your server instance usage exceeds the number of server instances included in your annual license subscription, your default payment method will automatically be charged monthly in arrears at the then-current monthly subscription rate for each excess server instance used. There is no need to notify us when instances are started or stopped.
If you anticipate continued use of the extra instance(s), you can add additional annual server instances to your annual subscription by visiting the Add Wowza Streaming Engine Server Instances page. You will be charged a prorated annual rate for each server instance added.
How do I reduce the number of server instances in my annual subscription?
If you need to reduce the number of annual server instances included in your annual subscription, you can request to do so at any time by contacting Customer Support. Note: Changes will not take place until your annual license subscription renewal date.

Monthly Subscription Details
How am I invoiced for a monthly license subscription?
When you purchase a monthly license subscription, you initially pay for only one server instance. If you need more server instances, you simply install your license key on additional servers as needed. Your monthly invoice increases or decreases based on the number of server instances in use.
Our licensing servers look for the peak usage from any given day during your usage period. If you had additional monthly server instances running during the previous usage period, they are billed on the next monthly invoice at the then-current monthly rate. There is no need to notify us when server instances are started or stopped.
Your monthly invoice will show a recurring fee that covers the first server instance for your upcoming usage period. This recurring fee is charged every month to keep your license key active until you request cancellation, even if no servers are running.

You can request to move from a monthly license subscription to an annual license subscription by contacting Customer Support. Note: changes will take place at the start of your next monthly bill cycle.
